Presenting the Class 87s in 2006 as used by GBRF for 1M44 ( and also 1S96). They were needed when the 325 units working 1S96 developed major problems north of Oxenholme, which resulted in huge delays to mainline services. As a precaution the cars drawing the juice were removed and the 3 car units had to be dragged for a number of weeks until the cars could be upgraded.
Unbranded 87026 only worked this on a couple of occasions that I am aware. Here it heads south at Low Gill on 5/4/2006.
Whilst unbranded DRS 87006 worked 1M44 several times. The date was 10/4/2006 and 87006 is seen passing Low Gill heading south.
Hest Bank with the purple one, dated 11/4/2006
LNWR 87019 heads south, having passed Elmsfield on 3/5/2006
The same location, and NSE liveried 87012 heads 1M44 on 8/5/2006
Passing Bolton-le-Sands, 87022 in GBRF branding on DRS Blue, 1m44 heads south on 10/5/2006.
1S96 and 1m44 occasionally produced T n T mode as seen here with 87022 and 87028 on 1/6/2006.
