Great Central Diesel Gala Autumn 2013
A visit to the GCRN for the Autumn Diesel gala, featuring some of the home fleet and the arrival of the ProtoType HST Power Car 41001 with working Paxman Valenta engine, and lots of warm Autumnal Sunshine.
The shape of things to come 35 years ago, with 41001, superbly restored and operational, sounding great outside the shed at Ruddington.
A few last minute tweaks to Grid 097 before start-up.
Green 20154 propels the stock out of the station, to run back into the platform for the second service of the day fro Ruddington-Loughborough
The start-up.
56097 stands at Rushcliffe Halt with the return from Loughborough.
Back at Ruddington, the 20 ran off the tail, in readiness for Large Logo 47292 to run on, to form the 13.00 1A07 service to Loughborough
Departure from Ruddington produced plenty of thrash and clag from 097
and finally clearing as she passed the Signalbox.
Apparently still a runner, despite not looking too healthy body-wise
