East Lancs Galas and Running days 2010
EWS liveried 37418 was due to take part in the running day on February 13th, but was failed due to loss of power and since then has rarely worked in anger. Here she stands at Buckley Wells works with a BR Blue Bubble car for company.
Restored to a very high standard and now wearing BR Green with small yellow panels , former 47402 Gateshead approaches Ewood Bridge.

At the event on March 6th, 37109 pilots class 33 "6525" on the approach to Rawtenstall. 6525, at this time, was starting to look a little worse for wear.
D1501 approaches Irwell Vale with 2J72, the 11.00 departure from Rawtenstall
Fresh from overhaul, and without nameplates and windscreen wipers, Laira blue 50008 pilots 40145 as they depart from Irwell Vale.
The pair approach the crossing at the sewerage works to the north of Ramsbottom, with the return working.
37901 " Mirlees Pioneer" tails the arrival into Rawtenstall on Saturday 6th March 2010
"Wesmek" D7076 departs Rawtenstall. At this time, the Hymek had borrowed an engine from 1041 Western Prince which is still currently being overhauled, hence the nickname Wesmek.
The July gala brought several visitors to the line from GCR (North) and Barrow Hill. Amongst them 56097, restored to Trainload Coal sector livery, seen here at Summerseat station in glorious sunshine on Saturday 3rd July.
By comparison, but working, RES liveried 47765 arrived with a service from Rawtenstall. Apparently appearances can be deceptive, as since this gala, the loco has performed quite well. All it needs is a repaint (a new coat of RES please)
Another visitor was Class 50 D444 "Exeter" (visiting from SVR) which was paired with resident 50015 "Valiant"
From Barrow Hill, Class 33108 worked a number of services. She is seen here bringing the stock into Ramsbottom to form a service to Heywood.
Split headcode Peak, 45060 is seen here awaiting departure from Irwell Vale. The last time I saw this Peak was at the Barrow Hill Rail Power event. At the time, the Peak only had a split headcode at one end.
